JOINT STATEMENT: European agri-food chain representatives reaffirm support for EU-Japan trade deal ahead of Tokyo Summit

  • Welcome to CELCAA

CELCAA was founded in 1979 by major European sectoral trade associations that are involved in retail and wholesale of agricultural and agri-food products to join their forces and cooperate on a horizontal level. This need for cooperation becomes more vital as legislation increasingly impacts on issues common to all agricultural traders. Furthermore, representation of specific agricultural traders' interests towards partners in the food chain are crucial in view of the vertical integration.

CELCAA ensures the advocacy of agricultural and agri-food traders by its presence in various consultative groups of the European institutions. A network of different platforms and round tables has been built up to communicate and share views with other interest groups of the food chain and the civil society.

Our website will inform you on the main aspects of our organisation: its mission, its objectives, its members and its main activities.

    pdfPress Release Manifesto

Ahead of the European Parliament elections, CELCAA launched its 2014 Elections Manifesto during a high level event entitled 'Trade for a better market' organised at the European Parliament on 10th February 2014. The Manifesto calls on the Institutions to recognise the role played by the trade on the market and along the supply chain, to improve predictability of the regulatory framework, as well as to complete ambitious Free Trade Agreements with third trading partners, while removing artificial barriers to trade globally and on the EU internal market. The document asks to enhance EU trade negotiators relations with trade operators on the ground, who can serve as 'trade advisers' to negotiating teams. Finally, the Manifesto proposes the creation of a European Parliament inter-group on trade in agri-food products in the next legislature.
